Windows Server 2008 is one of Microsoft product that definitely gonna give very huge impact for worldwide infrastructure technologies as well as Visual Studio 2008 as developer tools. There's a time when I want to build a demo machine that can show the value of Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services. I deployed the Windows Server 2008, Terminal Services Gateway, Terminal Services Remote Program, and Terminal Services Web Access with the latest build, Windows Server 2008 RC1. But unfortunately I realized that the TS Web Access in Windows Server 2008 RC1 require Windows Vista SP1 as the client. Seems like this is going to be a problem, since that not all of my peers already upgrade their Vista's with the latest SP1. But unfortunately, this problem inspired me with another idea to create Silverlight based web application that can be used as well as TS Web Access. You can see the online demos in here. If some of you want with the source code, you can download from here, I already developed the html version so can easily use it as demo to your costumer/partner/friends. You can compare The Plain TS Web Access VS the Customized TS Web Access *.
The best news ever is some of the CORP guys are interested with this application and want to help me improve the UI as well as the web app. And the best thing is, they would love to use this for the Steve Ballmer keynote demo at the LA Launch if possible. This is the best news ever, better than winning the Imagine Cup 2006 - Local Software Design.
